Kay, I may need to split this into more than one post because I'm not used to posting
'Gina Miller' size blog posts. ;) First of all I'm watching Grey's Anatomy and have I mentioned how much I LOVE this tv show?! I so love the characters. I love that it's funny, touching, sometimes overly dramatic and completely interesting every single minute of the show.
I'm way behind but Dancing with the Stars update: Lisa Rinna - might be trying a bit too hard. Was super impressed with her last week and thought the judges were a bit hard on her but this week I was much less impressed. What's with the super slow rhumba's? Anywho, Drew Lachey is still my favorite and how can you not love that Jerry Rice?! I was a little annoyed that I didn't tivo the OC because Thursday night's show was an hour and a half and then when I watched Friday night's show they replayed each person's entire dance. Had I known that I may have at least skipped watching the over-lapping 1/2 hour so I could catch the new episode of OC. I just love Seth's sense of humor on that show.
Digital Housewives, For Nancy who asked, are a group of girls here in Michigan that actually get together at eachother's houses to digi-scrap. My sister Manda started digi-scrapping shortly after I did (which is totally unfair 'cuz she's scrapped WAY more pages than me since!) and I think every one of her friends were so excited about this new way of scrapbooking that they went out and bought laptops so we could all scrap together like they did when it was all done with paper. We found a great hotel in the area with suites and even fireplaces in every room and a great lobby with wireless so we occasionally even get to have digi-scrapping slumber parties. :) We have a blog that we keep in touch on and I've toyed around with and I've toyed around with posting digital housewives challenges but there are so many great challenges already out there that I'm thinking now of maybe choosing a challenge that seems especially interesting from each week and post a link on our blog. Just some thoughts at this point and not sure if it's more than I want to take on at this point with new nieces on the way and not enough time in the days as it is. Inevitably when we get together we learn new tricks from eachother so I thought about posting those tips on the blog as well. For now we're just a group of gals who love to get together and scrapbook the digital way. Instead of pieces of paper and hole punches and stickers strewn all across some tables we have laptops, external hard drives and cords plugged into power strips. :)
I also have some sad news to share. I've made the very difficult decision to hang up my SBB DTM tiara. I will definitely miss being a part of such an amazing team but with 2 new nieces on the way I decided it was time to focus more on being the best possible aunt to them and more supportive of my sisters - their moms. I'm trying to work on a better balance in 2006 and my priorities were in need of a little adjusting. SBB is still my favorite place on the web and I actually hope to spend more time participating there on a regular member level. Hopefully posting more LOs, commenting more in the gallery and maybe even hanging out in the chat room now and then. :)
Okay, I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open and I'm not quite done yet. I've been tagged by Gina which means I have to answer this fun list of questions here on my blog. So here goes nothin':
4 jobs you've had in your life
- Various different duties at the local skating rink - snack bar, admissions, rentals (couldn't handle dj'ing cuz I hated hearing my voice over all those speakers & a little too nice to wear the striped shirts and blow whistles at the kids skating way too fast) This was actually a really fun job being a junior high/high school aged kid at the time.
- Various jobs at a local bank - receptionist, teller, customer service
- Office manager at a local woodworking company - LOVED being able to use the awesome wood working equipment there. I have a gorgeous 4 post bed that I made almost completely on my own (other than the cuts where my arms weren't long enough to do without losing half of one). We also worked on a project while I was there restoring much of the woodwork for Notre Dame University. It was fun to see the beautiful architectural gigantic doors and then visit the university after the project was finished.
- Office manager for a small leasing company - favorite part of this job is the software development side of it. I'm such a computer geek! LOL
4 movies you could watch over and over:
- Sound of Music
- Guys and Dolls
- Serendipity
- How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
4 places you have lived:
- Kay, I've only lived in 2 cities and I'm not sure it would even count as 2 because I've always lived within a 3 or 4 mile radius. LOL
4 tv shows you love to watch:
- Dancing with the Stars
- Grey's Anatomy
- The Bachelor
- Related
4 places you've been on vacation:
- Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
- Manhattan, New York City
- Cape Cod
- Chicago
4 websites you visit daily:
4 of your favorite foods:
4 places you'd rather be right now:
- It's late and I'm exhausted so I'd have to say in my bed, on my fluffy pillow, under my velvety chenille blanket and down comforter, between my freshly cleaned fabric softener scented sheets.
I think that covers it all for tonight. Off to dreamland. :)
